Hello Friends and Family,
I hope the new year is treating you well. Rachel and I are so thankful for the time we got to spend in the States over Christmas. It was so good to see family and friends. We did not get to see everyone we wanted to but we are looking forward to our time home in the summer.
The new semester has really kicked off here at IAS. New classes have started, new students have come to our school, and we have already had some fun events. One event we had yesterday was Winter Wonderland. It was in our school gym. The air conditioning was turned down as low as it could go and we had a "snow ball" fight (with crumpled up paper), a winter slide, face painting, and lots of food and games. Rachel and I got to do the cake walk. Which was crazy fun. So many students, families, and friends came, it was a big success! We will post some pictures soon.
Prayer Requests:
-Secondary Students finished their standardized tests last week, now it is the elementary kids turn this week. Pray for sleep, good nutrition, and that they perform to the best of their ability.
-Please pray for me (Mike) this week. I am speaking at high school chapel. We are going through a series on fruits of the spirit and I am speaking on gentleness, prayers will be helpful!
-We have SO many new students this semester. They are from places such as Serbia, Brazil, and the United States. Please pray for their transition to the school and that they make new friends and become a part of our school family.
-Rachel and I are seeking churches and people to partner with us to support our ministry in Suriname. We are confident that the Lord will provide and allow us to continue to do His work here. Please pray for us during this time and If this is on your heart please feel free to contact us on our contact page.
Love you all,
Mike and Rachel
